An online helpdesk service offered by the Institute of Medicine & Law to doctors and hospitals. It helps them clear their MedLegal (medico-legal) doubts and queries by asking questions, seeking information or help related to medical laws. This service is completely anonymous and the user is not identified in anyway.

It helps doctors and hospitals remain legally correct and safe by clearing their doubts and queries on laws relating to medical negligence.

It is ensured by not asking for personal identifiable information. Further, all the tracking codes have been actively disabled on the portal. The user can view the response to his/her query, simply by entering the unique code generated at the time of query submission.

Click on ‘Ask a Query’, enter your query in the designated box, enter the verification code provided by SEMI, and press ‘Enter’. A unique 8-digit code will be generated and displayed on the screen. The response to your query will be available on the portal within the next 48 hours.

You can ask legal queries relating to day-to-day medical practice, dilemmas on legally correct protocols, and unique challenges and situations that could pose a legal threat in the future.

You cannot ask queries on pending legal proceedings or queries that are not strictly MedLegal (commonly known as medico-legal).

The responses are provided by a team of experts consisting of both lawyers and doctors having the requisite expertise in this domain.

No, ‘Anaam’ is not a substitute for a lawyer. It is a resource to help doctors and hospitals to get the requisite legal knowledge to remain legally correct and safe.
